Fine pena mai

The true story of Antonio Perrone (Claudio Santamaria), known as Tonio, a young boss who in a matter of a few years manages to get to the top of the Salento Lowlife. His life is full of excess, fast cars and drugs. His girlfriend-then-wife Daniela (Valentina Cervi) is his only comfort from his reckless existence. He became boss when he was managing a gambling and drug dealing activity with other criminals, Tonio then gets arrested and in prison he meets the great bosses of the criminal organisation known as the “Sacra Corona Unita” mafia.
His old partners will all either die or disappear, and Tonio becomes the undisputed boss of this criminal organisation, which law enforcement will later disband.
He ends up in prison once again, sentenced to 49 years. He starts writing a book about himself titled Vista d’interni (the View from the Inside) where he tells his life story, and the regret he feels for not living up to the promise he made to his wife Daniela and son Alessio so many years before: to never leave them alone.
